Russian Higher ups have found ways to influence American's thoughts through spreading misinformation. Through doing this they are able to effect the ways Americans think. This could cause outbrakes of angry and falsyly informed groups of people to start causing problems and furthering this false information to more people. As more people believe more of these lies the more control Russia has in America. Mainly there goals seem to be to impact American polotics and to put fear into the minds of these people so they can distrust there government
A way of spreading this fake information is throught social media platforms like twitter and facebook. Here Russia can make many fake accounts that pose to be actual American citezens when in reality they are often robots controlled by people. These bots can number in large quantities to further there reach to more Americans who see there posts. On these platforms the bots posts made up news about poloticians, the government, or anything that could cause chaos among American citezens.
The bots will target grouops of people who closely fit the bots persona. Through following people with the same race, religion, and ideas they can build a sense of trust with the viewers. This will allow the bots to seem more believable and make there lies easier to agree with. The people who will see these posts will further this information to more people and begin the cycle of misinforming a large group of people. With all these people believing these Russian lies, it reveals how dangerous it is when Russia spreads lies to people. It gives Russia more influence in the United States government by infiltrating the minds of the people.
